Two Espionage Arrests in India: ISI-Trained Agent and Honey-Trapped Engineer Caught

In a significant development, Indian authorities have apprehended two individuals in separate espionage cases linked to Pakistan’s intelligence operations.

On May 29, Delhi Police’s Special Cell arrested 34-year-old Kasim from Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district. Kasim had reportedly traveled to Pakistan twice, receiving training from the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) during his second visit. He is accused of collecting sensitive information on military installations across Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan, and allegedly facilitated the transfer of Indian SIM cards to Pakistan for covert communications.

In a separate incident, Maharashtra’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) detained a 27-year-old junior engineer from Thane on May 28. The engineer, employed by a private firm involved in defense projects, was allegedly honey-trapped by a Pakistani intelligence operative posing as a woman on Facebook. Between November 2024 and March 2025, he is believed to have shared classified information about restricted government areas via WhatsApp. Authorities traced the operative’s communications to an IP address in Pakistan, and the engineer reportedly received payments for the leaked information.

Both individuals are currently in custody as investigations continue to uncover the extent of their activities and any potential networks involved.
