On Thursday, two separate flights in India were forced to return shortly after takeoff due to technical problems, but all passengers are safe.
An IndiGo flight (6E 2006) from Delhi to Leh had to turn back to Delhi’s IGI Airport after flying for over two hours. According to IndiGo, the aircraft faced a technical issue that made it unsafe to land in Leh’s challenging terrain. “As a safety measure, the pilot returned to Delhi. The aircraft is now undergoing maintenance,” the airline said. Passengers were shifted to another aircraft to ensure they reached Leh without further delays.
In another incident the same day, a SpiceJet flight from Hyderabad to Tirupati (SG 2696) also returned to Hyderabad soon after takeoff. The flight had taken off at 6:19 am and was expected to reach Tirupati by 7:40 am. However, a snag forced it to head back to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
Just a day earlier, passengers on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Raipur had to wait inside the plane for about 40 minutes after landing due to a minor technical issue that delayed the opening of the aircraft door.
Thankfully, all incidents were handled safely, and alternative arrangements were made for passengers.
