Gadar 2 starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel broke all the records and turned out to be a major blockbuster sequel. The makers gave their 100% to maintain the originality of the sequel which contributed towards the success of the film.
Not only the scenes or the actors, but the director Anil Sharma made sure that some of the hit songs of the film must also be kept to give the audience a wave of originality. The film had two old songs Mai Nikla Gaddi Leke and Udd Ja Kaale Kaava which were composed by music director Uttam Singh.
However now it is being said that the makers of the film did not take permission from the music director to use the songs.
What did the music director Uttam Singh say?
Music director Uttam Singh has denied all the claims made by Anil Sharma that he took prior permission from Uttam before using the songs. He said that Anil Sharma called him and only informed him about the release of the original movie and not the songs.
He called Uttam Singh to his office and asked him to work on the original songs as Gadar was re-releasing. Now, because of all this the music company was quite unhappy with the expenses that were incurred for reworking on the songs.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Uttam Singh said “No permission was taken from me”. Although Anil Sharma made him listen to the Khairiyat song in a different room and it was untuned so Uttam Singh fixed it but apart from this no permission was taken by the film director from the music composer for using his original songs in the film.
