Uttarakhand: After AAP’s CM Face Colonel Ajay Kothiyal, Party’s State Unit Chief Deepak Bali Joins BJP

Days after Colonel Ajay Kothiya who was the CM candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party in the recent assembly elections, had joined the Saffron party. Giving another jolt to the AAP in Uttarakhand, the BJP has inducted Deepak Bali, the state unit chief of Uttarakhand AAP, into the party fold.

News agency ANI tweeted, “Uttarakhand | Deepak Bali, who was the state president of the Aam Aadmi Party, today joined the BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the state BJP office in Dehradun.”

This is a second big jolt to the Aam Aadmi Party in Uttarakhand. In the assembly elections held in February this year, the AAP, for the first time campaigned actively in the state and contested the elections. Though the party had to end up with a zero, but even after its defeat, the AAP has been active in the state.

Few days back, Colonel Ajay Kothiyal, who was the CM candidate of AAP, jumped to BJP’s ship, and now with Deepak Bali’s exit, the troubles for the Aam Aadmi Party have increased in Uttarakhand. With Deepak Bali joining BJP, the Congress party has lashed out at BJP, claiming that the work of BJP’s “b-team” is successfully completed in Uttarakhand now.

In the assembly elections held in February this year, the BJP retained the power Uttarakhand with 47 seats, while the Congress party won just 19 seats, 2 seats were begged by the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the AAP ended up at zero. Though the AAP was able to get 3.3% vote share for the first time in Uttarakhand.
