Violence Returns to Sector-32 as Two Men Wreck Ambulances Amid Ongoing Taxi Feud

Months after gunfire rocked the Sector-32 taxi stand, another wave of violence has jolted the area. On the night of April 18-19, two men-identified as Dharampal (39), a resident of Dadumajra, and Jagtar Singh alias Kala from Kharar-went on a destructive spree, smashing six ambulances at Gosal Taxi Stand, near Gate No. 2 in Sector 32B.

The incident came to light when Rajinder Prasad, co-owner of the stand, received a call from police the next morning. Shocked by the damage, he rushed to the site and reviewed CCTV footage which clearly captured the two men, armed with sticks, bricks, and stones, wrecking the vehicles.

The attack is linked to an ongoing feud between Prasad’s brother Rajesh and Dharampal. Last October, Dharampal was allegedly behind a shooting that left Rajesh injured. He was out on bail recently when this fresh act of violence occurred.

The grudge reportedly stems from a fallout over money. Dharampal, once partnered with Rajesh in running private vehicles, was ousted for financial misconduct. Since then, tensions have simmered. Prasad also alleged that Dharampal would extort money from ambulance operators to let them run.

An FIR has been registered at Sector-34 Police Station under Sections 194(2) and 324(4) of the BNS 2023. While Dharampal was detained from the scene, police are actively hunting for Jagtar, who had also helped attackers flee in the 2023 shooting incident.
