On Tuesday, January 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Lakshadweep. He posted some pictures on social media while strolling and spending time on the beach. The Prime Minister also promoted Lakshadweep and he wrote that travelers should go to Lakshadweep.
To this a minister of Maldives added her own comment that the shores of India are nothing in comparison to the shores of Maldives.
Now the ruckus has ended with this one comment. Be it an actor or cricketer – everyone is criticizing this statement. Even the internal politics of Maldives is shaken.
Prime Minister Modi had appealed to the tourists to visit Lakshadweep. Lakshadweep is a collection of 36 islands. The total area is 32 square kilometers. Located in the Arabian Sea. About 200-440 kilometers away from the coast of Kerala.
Till now there was no talk of Maldives. The Prime Minister did not take the name of Maldives at all.
But soon after PM Modi’s post, some social media handles of Maldives attacked India and especially Prime Minister Modi.
After this, several celebrities and politicians started uploading their photos from Indian islands in which they were seen promoting Indian tourism.
Amidst all this comedian Vir Das took to X and mocked actors and actresses for posting Maldives pictures and showing them as Indian Islands.
After this, Ashneer Grover shared his tweet and mocked the celebrities again in his own way.
A lot of Twitter users added their opinions to these tweets as they feel that it is a good initiative to promote Indian tourism and some are mocking Indian politicians too for being hypocrites.
