A day after announcing his retirement from Test cricket, Virat Kohli visited Vrindavan with his wife Anushka Sharma to seek blessings from spiritual guru Premanand Ji Maharaj. The couple, dressed simply and humbly, knelt before Maharaj Ji at his ashram, listening intently to his soft-spoken words delivered through a microphone.
In one video, the couple is seen arriving in Vrindavan by car, while in another photo, Maharaj Ji is seen engaging warmly with them. Dressed in yellow robes, he gently asked Kohli, “Prasanna ho?” (Are you happy?), to which the cricketer replied, “Ji, abhi thik hain” (Yes, I’m okay). Maharaj Ji smiled and said, “You should stay well.”
This spiritual interaction comes after Kohli’s heartfelt note about his 14-year journey in Test cricket. He wrote how the game tested, shaped, and taught him invaluable lessons. “There’s something deeply personal about playing in whites,” he said. Signing off with “269,” his cap number, Kohli said he was stepping away with a heart full of gratitude.
Notably, this isn’t the couple’s first visit to Premanand Ji. They had also sought his blessings in January 2023 and again in January 2025, reflecting their continued spiritual bond.
