Virat Kohli Congratulates 11 Students From The Lovely Professional University Participating In Tokyo Olympics 2020

Punjabis have been contributing immensely at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics global sporting fest. 40% of the total athletes from the Indian contingent at the Olympics are from the states of Haryana and Punjab. 

The flag bearing at the opening ceremony of this year’s Olympics was also led by Manpreet Singh, Captain of India’s National Men’s Hockey Team and ace boxer Mary Kom. Manpreet Singh is also from Jalandhar, Punjab. 

Another feat has been added to the credit of Punjabis as Virat Kohli, captain of the Men’s National Indian Cricket Team, uploaded a post congratulating Lovely Professional University for their students’ remarkable contribution in the Olympics. 10% of the total Indian Olympians are students of the Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, Punjab. 

In total, 11 athletes including Manpreet Singh, the flag bearer and the captain of Men’s National Hockey Team, Neeraj Chopra, National Javelin Throw record holder and 9 other athletes are representing India at the Olympics stage who are LPU students. Virat also asked the university to send students to the Indian Cricket Team also.
