Laal Singh Chaddha’s announcement got us many hopes but with the release of the film in theaters it made all of us disappointed. However, there were mixed reviews about the movie, some loved the movie totally whereas, some people found it disappointing. The eventual result of it was that it failed at the box office with a bad response.
The makers decided to release the movie on the OTT platform to make it available for the audience easily but the latest reports by IWMBuzz.com suggest that the film has faced serious issues with Netflix and the deal between Aamir Khan productions and Netflix has been called off. The reason for the same is the disappointing response of Laal Singh Chaddha in theaters.

Aamir Khan productions and Viacom 18 were in talks with Netflix for the OTT release of Laal Singh Chaddha but it has been called off, citing ‘impractical demands’ as the reason for it. According to a source, “Aamir and Viacom wanted close to Rs 200 crores for the digital rights of Laal Singh Chaddha and they demanded a minimum of a 3-month gap between theatrical and OTT release from Netflix. But when the film released in theaters on 11 August, Netflix was negotiating with Aamir. Now that the film has proved a colossal disaster at the boxoffice, Netflix is no longer interested in buying Laal Singh Chadha.The negotiations have been called off.”
Reportedly, Laal Singh Chaddha will now premier on the Viacom 18’s OTT platform Voot. However, no official confirmation regarding the release on Voot has been out yet but we would not be amazed to hear the announcement soon.
Featuring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead roles, Laal Singh Chaddha was released on 11 August 2022 after facing many difficulties including the ‘Boycott’ trend. Laal Singh Chaddha is the official remake of ‘Forrest Gump’.
