Grammy winner US rapper Coolio passes away at the age of 59.

His manager informed the fans about the rapper's death in Los Angeles  on Wednesday.

Artis Leon Ivey Jr, better known as Coolia passed away at a friend’s  house, his manager, Jarez Posey,  told the Associated Press.

The cause of his death wasn’t immediately provided. However, Police have opened a death investigation.

Posey told TMZ that Coolio was found unresponsive in the bathroom of a friend's house on Wednesday.

Coolio was best known for the chart-topping 1995 song Gangsta's Paradise.

He was awarded the best rap solo performance for the track at the following year’s Grammy Awards.

Coolio was nominated for five other Grammys during a career that  began in the 1980s.

In a four decade long career he recorded 8 studio albums & won  an American Music Award & 3  MTV Video Music Awards.

Soon after his death, fans from every corner of the world showed their grief & paid their last respects for the legendary rapper.
