Odisha's 18 years old girl, Sriya Lenka becomes first-ever K-Pop artist
from India.
The Rourkela girl is chosen by the K-Pop girl group 'Blackswan' alongside Gabriela Dalcin of Brazil.
The K-pop group was looking for a new artist after its oldest member Hyeme left the group in November 2020.
Group's promoter, DR music, had announced an online audition for a new K-Pop idol in May 2021.
Sriya & Gabriela were chosen among 4000 applicants through a 6 months long audition program to replace Hyeme.
Blackswan was supposed to pick only one member but they announced
Sriya & Gabriela as their 5th
& 6th group member.
Sriya has learnt Odissi classical dance since the age of 12 but her attraction towards K-Pop muisc turned into
a blessing for her.
This 2003 born Indian teenager will debut in the next album of Blackswan.
In the last 5 months, Lenka & Gabi were put through an intense training which includes standard vocal, rap, dance lessons, musical instruments & more.
Lenka & Dalcin will be in Seoul for next few months for the practice of Blackswan's new album.
