India has a new Vice President now & his name is Jagdeep Dhankar.

Jagdeep Dhankar, NDA's candidate for Vice Presidential elections 2022, has defeated opposition's Margaret Alva to become India's vice president.

Jagdeep Dhankar was born on May 18, 1951 to Gokal Chand & Kesari Devi in Kithana, in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan.

Dhankar completed his school education Sainik School, Chittorgarh & then graduated in B.Sc & LLB from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.

Dhankhar married Sudesh Dhankhar in 1979, & they have a daughter, Kamna Dhankar.

Dhankhar enrolled with the Bar Council of Rajasthan as an Advocate in 1979, was designated as Senior  Advocate in Rajasthan  High Court in 1990.

Dhankar has also served as a former President of Rajasthan High Court Bar Association, Jaipur.

He was a member of parliament from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan during 1989–91 in the 9th Lok Sabha, representing Janata Dal.

He was a former MLA from Kishangarh, Rajasthan during 1993–98 in the 10th Legislative Assembly Rajasthan.

On 20 July 2019, Jagdeep Dhankar was also appointed as the Governor of West Bengal.
