An Indian origin student, Shubham Garg was stabbed in Wales, South Sydney Australia.
As per the reports, his condition is very critical and is currently admitted in a local hospital of Sydney.
The family says it was a racial attack where the unknown assailant stabbed Shubham 11 times on face & chest.
27-year-old Shubham, is a student from Agra pursuing PhD at the University of South Wales in Sydney.
The horrific incident took place in the first week of October, his family claimed, seeking help from the
Indian government on social media.
Kavya Garg, the sister of Shubham, sought an emergency visa for family members to fly to Sydney to
look after Shubham.
He tagged PM Modi, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath & external affairs minister S Jaishankar for the same.
According to an Australian media report, a 27-year-old man was arrested for the attack & has been
charged with "one count of
attempted murder.
"We can confirm the men are NOT believed to have known each other before the incident," officials
said in a statement.
The attacker demanded cash from Shubham Garg & on being refused, stabbed him a number of times
before fleeing the spot.
