Pallonji Mistry was a business tycoon who headed the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, passed away on Tuesday.

The Shapoorji Pallonji Group, established in 1865, is one of the largest business firms in India.

He was felicitated with the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s top  civilian awards, in 2016.

An Irish citizen, the business tycoon had also been known as the “Phantom of Bombay House” for keeping  a low profile.

In 2012, his family came into the spotlight after his younger son Cyrus Mistry was chosen as the new head  of Tata group after Sir Ratan  Tata's retirement.

Mistry had named his oldest son, Shapoor as the new chairman of Shapoorji Pallonji Group in  June, 2012.

The business tycoon's estimated net worth was $15 billion & was the  125th richest man in the world.

The business tycoon passed away at the age of 93 on 28th July, 2022.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a number of political leaders tweeted  his condolences for the deceased.
