"This is the announcement we never intended to make, and we do it with a heavy heart: Wilko Johnson has died," the message said. RIP Wilko Johnson"
Johnson is primarily known for his singing career, but he appeared in seasons 1 and 2 of Game of
Thrones as a mute knight.
In 2013, the talented musician was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer
and given a year to live.
He declined chemotherapy but was proclaimed cancer-free a year later following a tumour removal.
Who is most known as the guitarist for Dr Feelgood, whose R&B-influenced pub rock relied on Johnson's
choppy guitar stylings?
'Stupidity' was a top UK record in 1976, but Johnson left a year later.
He joined Ian Drury and the Blockheads and released his own music, including an album with
Roger Daltrey in 2014.
