When Is Chandigarh Getting 5G? Deets Inside!!

The Chandigarh UT is likely to get 5G service soon; according to official sources, Bharti Airtel will introduce the technology in January 2019. Meanwhile, Reliance Jio is anticipated to join the league by March. A conference on 5G capacity-building was held on Monday at the Entrepreneur Development Center of the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park by the UT Department of Information Technology, where the workflow of the internal portal was also presented.

Furthermore, the National Broadband Mission, department of telecommunications, Government of India officials provided an overview of 5G’s advantages across the health, education, and other sectors during the conference, which was attended by more than 125 participants. Notably, Mr. Rupesh Kumar, the IT director of UT, stated “5G is like a nervous system of the digital economy and society and that it’s crucial for both the industry and the officer/officials.”

UT adviser Dharam Pal, who while inaugurating the conference, stated that smooth 5G rollout in UT Chandigarh will be made possible with all stakeholders working together, including UT departments, civic organisations, businesses, and the government of India. Moreover, the IT secretary provided additional details on the department’s efforts to create an internal portal that will enable effective and quick permission grants to Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) and Infrastructure Providers.

The 5G mobile broadband network is the fastest network in today’s world. When it came to enabling users to stream music and video while they were on the go, 4G was a significant advancement. However, 5G is intended to connect a much wider variety of devices than smartphones and to offer significantly faster speeds and capacity.

Notably, Chandigarh is amongst the 13 cities chosen by the nation for the upcoming 5G launch. Furthermore, many telecommunications providers have started their 5G trial sites in the city, including Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea.
