We all have loved Sargun Mehta in all her movies, and her acting skills succeeds in mesmerizing us each time we see her on screens. But will you believe if we tell you that Sargun Mehta never actually wanted to become an actor? If no, then read further and know what actually the reason behind Sargun joining theatres was.
During her college days, Sargun has been an excellent theatre artist, but joining theatre was never a personal choice of hers. In fact she had to join theatre to get admission in B.Com Honors. She scored 93% but for the admissions she required 97%. So to get herself admitted in the course she chose to be in ECA in dramatics which was a quota for Extra Curricular Activity. She was warned that she cannot quit theatre in the span of 3 years, which she agreed to. Sargun says that she somehow completed one year with no interest but fell in love with theatre from the 2nd year.

ਅਸੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਮਹਿਤਾ ਤੇ ਓਹਨਾ ਦੀ ਅਦਾਕਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਪਰ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਐਕਟਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ।
ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਇਕ ਬੇਹਤਰੀਨ ਥੀਏਟਰ ਆਰਟਿਸਟ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਓਹ ਕਦੇ ਥੀਏਟਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਨੂੰ ਬੀ. ਕੌਮ ਹੋਨੋਰਸ ਲਈ 97% ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਓਹਨਾ ਦੇ ਅੰਕ 93% ਸਨ। ਪਰ ਐਕਸਟ੍ਰਾ ਕਰੀਕੂਲਰ ਐਕਟੀਵਿਟੀ ਡੇ ਕੋਟਾ ਰਹੀ ਓਹਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਅੜਕਿਸ਼ਨ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ।
ਪਰ ਓਹਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਾਫ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕੇ ਉਹ 3 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਥੀਏਟਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡ ਸਕਦੇ। ਤੇ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾ 1 ਸਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਿੱਤਾ। ਪਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਨੂੰ ਥੀਏਟਰ ਅਤੇ ਐਕਟਿੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਵੈਸੇ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਕਮਾਲ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋ ਸਾਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਓਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
