Rupert Murdoch, a media mogul who is 92 years old, is about to begin a new chapter in his life for the fifth time. Yes! You read it correctly. According to reports, Rupert Murdoch, an Australian-born media mogul, is locked in to wed for the fifth time at 92 years old to previous San Fran police chaplain Ann Lesley Smith who is 66. The duo met a couple of months prior, in September 2022, at an occasion held at his Moraga vineyard in Bel Air, California.
“We spoke for a while after I met her.” When asked about his first encounter with his fiancee, Murdoch recalled, “I called her two weeks later.” Moreover, the couple is excited to spend the “second half” of their lives together and are planning a summer wedding to celebrate their love.
This past month, the 92-year-old media tycoon proposed to Ann Lesley. Before presenting it to her in New York, he selected an Asscher-cut diamond solitaire. “I had a lot of anxiety. Despite knowing it would be my last, I dreaded falling in love. It ought to be. I’m happy.” While discussing the proposal, Murdoch stated.
Ann Lesley Smith, Who Is She?
Rupert Murdoch’s new fiancee, Ann Lesley Smith, 66 years old, has been married twice and served as a former San Francisco police chaplain. She was married to country music legend Chester Smith, who died in 2008 at 78 from a heart attack.
However, she had a turbulent marriage with John B. Huntington, her first husband. In a previous interview, she told the Christian Broadcasting Network that he physically and mentally abused her. She stated, “He abused me emotionally, mentally, and physically.”
Ann Lesley graduated from Idaho State University and kept her love life separate before starting her dental hygienist business in the 1970s. John was 47, and Ann Lesley was 28 when they married in 1985.
She ended up homeless and living on welfare after a chaotic divorce from her first husband. She admitted in an interview that she was on the cusp of taking her own life. Instead, she began working as a volunteer police chaplain and found solace in Christianity during this difficult time.
Through this work, she also met Chester Smith, her second husband. It is said that her second marriage was happy. Although the length of their wedding at the time of his death is unknown, they did make an album together in 2005 called Captured By Love.
Lesley has also worked as a dental hygienist, a police chaplain, a model, a recording artist, and a radio host.
“I’m a widow of 14 years. My Ex-husband was a businessman, just like Rupert. Developed radio and television stations, promoted Univision, and worked for local newspapers. So, as a result, I understand Rupert.” In the New York Post interview, Lesley stated, “We share the same beliefs.”
