Popular social media influencer Kirti Patel, also known as Kirti Adalja, was arrested on Wednesday in Ahmedabad after being on the run for over 10 months. She was wanted in connection with a high-profile honey trapping and extortion case in Surat.
Kirti had allegedly blackmailed a real estate builder, demanding crores of rupees. A case was registered against her on June 2 last year, and a warrant was issued soon after. While four others were arrested earlier, Kirti managed to stay hidden by frequently changing her location across Gujarat, switching SIM cards, and masking her digital activity. She was finally tracked down in the Sarkhej area of Ahmedabad with the help of cyber surveillance and coordination with Instagram.
Kirti Patel is a well-known digital creator with over 1.3 million followers on Instagram. She often shares videos of herself riding bikes, attending religious events, and engaging with locals. Even while evading arrest, she remained active online—her last post was just five days before her arrest.
She is also facing multiple other complaints, including land grabbing and extortion. In the past, she was fined for posing with an owl in a TikTok video and was linked to an attempted murder case involving TikToker Raghu Bharwad.
