Shareek 2 is in the news since its announcement, which is very obvious because it is the sequel of superhit and loved film Shareek (2015) and also it has the super appealing duo of Jimmy Shergill with Dev Kharoud. They both are two of the most prominent, loved and popular actors of Punjabi Cinema. They will be seen on screen with Sharan Kaur as the lead actress in the film. But do you know she was not the first choice for the film? Yes, that’s right, because the actual choice for the lead actress in Shareek 2 was Sonam Bajwa.

Now, you might be wondering why Sonam could not be a part of the film despite being the original and very first choice. So, let us tell you, the film already had two A-listers, Jimmy Shergill and Dev Kharoud in the bucket, which made it already a really expensive cast. So, the filmmakers had to drop their plan of casting Sonam Bajwa as another lead. After Sonam, the second choice for the film was Ankita Sharma, popularly known for her acting as the lead character in television family drama, Ek Shringaar- Swabhimaan on Colors TV. But due to some unknown reasons, she also couldn’t be a part of the film, which made the filmmakers head towards Sharan Kaur.

The budget was already an issue by the time of casting the female lead, and also the makers wanted to feature a fresh face to the audience by their film. So, they had Sharan Kaur in their list. She has been seen in the 2019 film, Munda Faridkotia with Roshan Prince and Karamjit Anmol in the lead roles.
