UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who recently visited India, has once again come into the limelight. His family is the richest family in the world. People are shocked to know their net worth.
Bloomberg had given Nahyan’s family the first place in the list of World’s Richest Families 2023. Sheikh Mohammed is the 17th Emir or ruler of Abu Dhabi.
According to media reports, Dubai’s Al Nahyan royal family owns a presidential palace worth Rs 4,078 crore, which is equal to the size of three Pentagons. Additionally, it has eight private jets and a popular football club, the richest club in the world.
According to news website GQ, the family lives in the gilded Qasr Al-Watan presidential palace in Abu Dhabi, the largest of several such palaces in the UAE which is spread over approximately 94 acres. The massive palace has a chandelier made of 350,000 crystals and also houses priceless historical artifacts.
The President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, also known as MBZ, is the head of the family and has 18 brothers and 11 sisters. The Emirati royal also has nine children and 18 grandchildren.
Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, younger brother of the Abu Dhabi ruler, has a collection of more than 700 cars, including the world’s largest SUV, five Bugatti Veyron, a Lamborghini Reventon, a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, a Ferrari 599XX and also the McLaren MC12.
The family owns approximately six percent of the world’s oil reserves, Manchester City Football Club and shares in several well-known companies. He has shares ranging from singer Rihanna’s beauty brand Fenty to Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
The president’s brother Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan heads the family’s main investment company, the value of which has risen some 28,000 percent in the past five years.The company is currently valued at $235 billion.
Apart from the UAE, the royal family of Dubai also owns luxury properties in many places around the world including Paris and London. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is counted among the richest wealthy landowners in London.
There are not one or two but many buildings in London which have been purchased in the name of Sheikh.
According to a New Yorker report in 2015, the Dubai royal family had the same amount of wealth as the British royal family. In 2008, MBZ’s Abu Dhabi United Group purchased UK football team Manchester City for Rs 2,122 crore. The company also owns 81 percent of City Football Group, which operates Manchester City, Mumbai City, Melbourne City and New York City football clubs.
