After taking over the Punjabi music and film industry, Jassie Gill has now started making his mark on the OTT industry. One of the most renowned faces in the Punjabi industry, Jassie Gill has announced an upcoming film through his social media.
The project is titled ‘Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai’ and Jassie will be playing the lead role in the film. To complement Jassie Gill, Surbhi Jyoti will be playing as the female lead in the project. It is set to be released exclusively on OTT Platform Zee5.
The long nationwide lockdowns and closure of the theatres due to the COVID-19 pandemic has helped in the blossoming of OTT platforms in India and the industry has gained a big audience.
The Zee5 exclusive film has been directed and written by Saurabh Tyagi. Dhaval Jayantilal Gada and Aksshay Jayantilal Gada have produced the movie in a collaborative effort.
The film has been announced but a fixed release date hasn’t been revealed to the audience. It has been set to release officially in the month of September this year. However, it will only be available for Zee5 users with a Premium subscription.
The title of the film has been derived from an old sensational meme that became very famous last year. An anonymous person had written ‘Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai’ in Hindi Language on a 10 Rupee note and it took no time for the tagline to become a nationwide sensation. The film can be expected to be a bit on the humorous side but the real premise will only be unveiled when the movie is released. September is the month the makers have asked the audience to wait for!
