Zomato Delivery Man Dies After A Police Vehicle Rams Into His Bike

Recently a shocking incident took place in India’s capital Delhi. In the incident, a delivery person died after a drunk police constable’s car allegedly hit his bike in Delhi. The victim has been identified as Salil Tripathi. He was the lone bread earner of his family, police said in a statement.

“A Zomato delivery executive died after a police constable, who was driving a car allegedly under alcohol influence, hit his bike in Budh Vihar, Rohini on Saturday. His father had died of COVID recently. The constable has been arrested,” a Delhi Police official statement said.

Further, Salil worked as a manager at Ricos in Hudson Lane and had taken on the Zomato job to earn extra, said his family. And from the news reports of Indian Express, Police said the constable who rammed his car into Salil’s bike is Zile Singh. He allegedly rammed near Baba Saheb Ambedkar hospital before hitting a DTC bus. Police are probing if Singh was under the influence of alcohol.

Salil was flung into the air and crashed near the divider. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The news came out when the videos and photos from the incident went viral on social media. The locals have been shown taking pictures of a damaged car. Moreover, constable Singh is seen sitting inside the car in his police uniform.

Locals alleged that he was speeding and driving rashly. Salil’s family has demanded strict action against the constable.
