During the pretest after farmers were lathicharged in Karnal and Amritsar, activists of the state women wing of AAP gheraoed the state BJP’s office alleging use of abusive language and assault on women and farmers.
One among those protesters were Punjabi singer and youth leader Anmol Gagan Mann along with AAP’s women wing state president Rajwinder Kaur Thiara.
During the protest the protesters broke through the barricading, prompting the police to use batons and water cannons, leaving many women injured and some of them were admitted to the hospital.
As soon as Anmol shared the videos and photos of herself, it went viral on the internet in no time. Some were supporting but others were making unpleasant statements on her body. While she was hit with a water cannon, she got wet and her wet clothes made her body visible.
But Punjabi celebrities never stay behind and support each other during bad times. And this time ace singer Babbu Maan took to social media and stood with Anmol Gagan Maan and other women in protest. He shared a post and tagged the singer. Further in the post he criticises the government and spoke about how our women are disrespected in our country. Also, people in our society have no right to say any mean things about any women.
