Kiddaan is always inclined towards respecting people’s views and providing a platform to let their opinions out in the public. For the same reason, we often conduct various independent polls for our viewers on our platform.
As we move into 2023 with a new and fresh start, let’s have a look back at 2022. The year was big in many terms, especially for the entertainment industry. The industry slowly revived after being hit by the COVID pandemic and we saw many bold, courageous, brilliant and risky projects. Here are the results for 2022 Kiddaan Polls in various categories.
1. Best Punjabi Song 2022
We saw many songs being released in the year, but the undisputed king was none other than Sidhu Moosewala, with his song ‘Levels’. It broke records and made history. Karan Aujla & YG’s ‘Gangsta’ follows Levels. Lemonade by Diljit Dosanjh takes up the third position and the next big thing in the industry, Shubh takes up fourth position with ‘We Rollin’.
Amrinder Gill’s Adore, Harvi’s Pta Mainu, AP Dhillon’s Summer High, Mankirt Aulakh’s Judge, Gulab Sidhu’s Ainak and B Praak’s Jhanjar were Kiddaan Best Punjabi Songs of 2022.
2. Best Punjabi Music Video 2022
The year 2022 was owned by young and rising music videos directors. The best Punjabi Music Video of 2022, as voted by the public, is ‘WYTB (What you talkin bout)’ by Karan Aujla. The video is made by Qarn Malhi. It is followed by ‘Levels’ by none other than Sidhu Moosewala. The video was made by Nav Dhiman. Karan Aujla and Qarn Malhi are again in 3rd position with ‘On Top’. Rupan Bal’s video for ‘Oouuu’ by Karan Aujla takes the fourth position on the list of Kiddaan Best Punjabi Music Video of 2022.
It is followed by Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Peaches’ by Boota, Ki Karde Je by Tru Makers, 26 Boulevard by Rupan Bal again, Jee Jeha Karda by Sumeet Dhiman, Hommie Call by Sukh Sanghera and Haaye Patlo by Harry Singh and Preet Singh.
3. Best Punjabi Album/EP 2022
There isn’t even a question! The best EP for 2022 was undoubtedly ‘No Name’ by Sidhu Moosewala. Karan Aujla’s EP ‘Way Ahead’ is in second position while Jass Manak takes up the third position with the album ‘Love Thunder’. Babbu Maan’s Adab Punjabi takes up fourth and Arjan Dhillon’s Jalwa takes up fifth position.
Majestic Laane by Gurnam Bhullar, Drive Thru by Diljit Dosanjh, No Lookin’ Back by Prem Dhillon, Nimmo by Nimrat Khaira and Two Hearts Never Break The Same by AP Dhillon were the Kiddaan Best Punjabi Albums as voted by Public.
4. Best Bollywood Film 2022
Aamir Khan’s controversial yet superhit remake of Forrest Gump ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is voted as the best Bollywood Film of 2022. Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 2 is in second position. Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra and Vivek Agnihotri’s controversial ‘The Kashmir Files’ were the top 5 movies of 2022.
Alia Bhatt’s appreciated Gangubai Kathiawadi, Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan’s face-off Vikram Vedha, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Monica O My Darling and Darlings made it to Kiddaan Best Bollywood Movies of 2022 list.
5. Worst Bollywood Movie 2022
The controversial Kangana Ranaut failed to deliver at the box office this year. Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad is voted as the worst Bollywood movie of 2022. Strange to see that the Best Bollywood Movie of 2022 – Laal Singh Chaddha is in second place in this not-so-glorious list. Heropanti 2 is on the third position while Akshay Kumar’s ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ which became a laughing stock on social media, is on the fourth position. Akshay Kumar is the only actor to have three movies on this list with Bachchan Pandey and Ram Setu too.
Radhe Shyam, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Shamshera and Rashtra Kavach Om were the Kiddaan Worst Movies of 2022. The year wasn’t a really good one for Bollywood as we saw many movies failing to deliver despite strong casts.
6. Cringiest Song 2022
Is there even a debate? Mankirt Aulakh’s ‘Pakistan’ with un-understandable lyrics is on the top. Tony Kakkar takes up the second position with ‘12 Ladke’. Diljit Dosanjh and Nimrat Khaira’s cute love song ‘What Ve’ was found cringy by many, hence the third position. Neha Kakkar isn’t much behind her brother with ‘O Sajna’ in fourth position. Tony Kakkar and Neha Kakkar follow yet again with ‘Mud Mud Ke’.
Liger’s ‘Aafat’ is on 6th while Yo Yo Honey Singh, who we would have loved to see on the Best Songs list rather than this one, is on 7th position with Jaam. Bhediya’s Thumkeshwari and An Action Hero’s Aap Jaisa Koi also made it to the Kiddaan Cringiest Song of 2022 list.
7. Best Punjabi Movie 2022
The year was as good for the Punjabi Film Industry as for the music industry. We saw ambitious projects releasing with directors exploring new areas. Gitaj Bindrakhia and Sargun Mehta’s ‘Moh’ is rated as the best punjabi film of 2022. It is followed by Neeru Bajwa and Gurnam Bhullar’s Kokka. The comedy drama Babe Bhangra Paunde Ne falls on the third position while Amrinder Gill’s Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aaya is on fourth. Saunkan Saunkne that ruled the box office, is on fifth.
Lover, Daakuan Da Munda 2, Chobbar, Yaar Mera Titliaan Warga and Bajre Da Sitta together made up the Kiddaan Best Punjabi Movies of 2022.
8. Best OTT Project 2022
Netflix’s courageous real-life inspired movie based on Punjab’s 1984 situation is on the top – Jogi starring Diljit Dosanjh. Panchayat 2 is in the second position and there are no complaints in it. Campus Diaries is on the third while Aashram 3 on the fourth position. Delhi Crime Season 2 closely follows with fifth position.
Ye Kaali Kaali Aankhein, Monica O My Darling, Mismatched Season 2, Gehraiyaan and Mai were some of the Kiddaan Best OTT Projects of 2022. We saw OTT taking over the traditional film industry this year, with many movies releasing only on the OTT platforms.
9. Internet Sensation (Female) 2022
Tejasswi Prakash, who was the winner of last year’s Bigg Boss, yet again ruled the charts, ranking 1st on the list. Everyone’s favorite chubby girl, Shehnaaz Gill is in second position. Himanshi Khurana is ranked 3rd on the list. Anjali Arora who gained fame for her ‘Kacha Badaam’ dance and later appearance in Lock Upp as a contestant is on the fourth position. Punjab’s Sonam Bajwa, who should be declared as the National Crush of India now, is on the fifth position.
Uorfi Javed, who’s always in the news for her dressing, Kangana Ranaut, Suhana Khan and Rakhi Sawant also made it to the list of Kiddaan Female Internet Sensations of 2022.
10. Internet Sensation (Male) 2022
Tejasswi Prakash’s boyfriend, Karan Kundrra leads the list just like his better half. Jass Manak, with his music, is in second position. Diljit Dosanjh, who released super hit music and films this year, is in third position. Punjab’s Golden Boy and dubbed as the next big thing – Shubh is on the fourth position. Pune’s hip hop sensation, who is currently a contestant at Bigg Boss, is on the fifth position.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, Winner of MTV Hustle 2 – MC Square, AP Dhillon, Vicky Kaushal and Raghav Juyak were voted as the Kiddaan Male Internet Sensations of 2022.
So, these were the results of the Kiddaan Polls of 2022. It is to be noted that all the results are solely based on public opinion, ratings and votes and Team Kiddaan has no role in ranking the projects and celebrities. We have had another amazing year yet again and we hope 2023 will be even better for each one of us.
