Puaada is a Punjabi word that translates to ‘Conflict’ in English. It is only the second Punjabi film that will be released in theatres after the upliftment of restrictions imposed on theatres due to the second wave of COVID-19, the first one being ‘Tunka Tunka’ starring Hardeep Grewal.
When the shooting for the film was still in progress, it was announced that it will be officially released in theatres on 12 June 2020. But 2020 was the year of the global pandemic of coronavirus and thus the shooting of the film was halted, affecting the release date of the film. Later, in January 2021, the producers announced that Puaada will be the first film to be released in theatres after the nationwide lockdown comes to an end. It was set to release on 11 March 2021. The release date suffered another postponement as it was then changed to 2 April 2021. But due to the re-impose of COVID-19 restrictions on the theatres, the film could not be released on the set date. Finally, it will be released worldwide in theatres on 12 August 2021.

Plot
Puaada revolves around the love story of a farmer of Punjab, Jaggi (Ammy Virk), who supplies milk to all the families of his hometown. One of his customers is the family of an attractive young girl, Raunak (Sonam Bajwa). Jaggi and Raunak are in a relationship and decide to reveal it to their families to take a step ahead in their relationship but things don’t turn out well. Raunak’s father, who is an officer at the Indian Air Force, disapproves of the relationship. He wants a son-in-law who is educated and in the Indian armed forces, just like him. At Jaggi’s house, his mother disapproves of the relationship as she wants a simple village girl to be Jaggi’s bride. Despite all this, the families eventually agree to meet personally and talk about the marriage but the real ‘Puaada’ starts when Jaggi suddenly pulls away. This not only starts a ‘Puaada’ among Jaggi and Raunak but also the two families. This leads to hilarious comical situations in the lives of the couple, who must overcome all this to save their relationship.
