Recently, Karan Johar celebrated 25 years of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai on Monday. Karan Johar made his directorial debut with this film and while celebrating its silver jubilee, the director said that Shahrukh Khan is eternal ‘Jawan’ who can play love stories forever.
The special screening of the film was attended by Karan Johar, Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was produced by Dharma Productions. The film had a star studded cast of Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukherjee in the lead roles and Salman Khan as the special appearance. This film revolved around a love triangle which takes an unfortunate turn in the future.
During the event, Karan Johar opened his heart and talked about hitting this milestone. He said as quoted by Koimoi.com “Every memory of this film is special. I remembered my father telling me if this movie goes average, then also you understand you have a career. I am glad it went well, and it’s all because of Aditya Chopra and SRK.”
To this, SRK replied “I have always said that Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra, and of course Yash Chopra and Yash Johar because of whom I became a star, I will always be grateful to them. But now I don’t know if I will do a love story or not. Ab Jawan bachcho ko karne do yaar.”
He further added, “If it wasn’t for Yash Chopra, Yash Johar, these are my friends and then their sons Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra, I would not be half the star that I am today”.
To this, Karan Johar replied “As far as SRK goes, he is the eternal ‘Jawan’. He can play love stories forever. He, in fact, created ‘love’ in Hindi cinema.”
Shahrukh’s reply has created a spur of curiosity among his fans. Is it true that the actor will never do love stories again? Srk was best known for his romantic deliverables and charm that won the hearts of many, but since Shahrukh Khan has himself said that he isn’t sure if he wants to do any love story or not.
