On 22nd June, 2022, NCB reportedly filed draft charges against Rhea, Showik and several others.
The charges were filed related to a drug case connected to SSR's death back in June 2020.
"The prosecution maintains all the charges against all the accused, as those mentioned in the chargesheet submitted before the court," said prosecutor Atul Sarpande.
The charges include Section 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(A), 22, 27, 27A, 28, 29, and 30 of the NDPS Act.
For consumption of narcotic substances, the prosecution proposed the court to charge both siblings.
Prosecutor added, the court was scheduled to frame the charge, but some of the accused had moved discharge applications which delayed the process.
"It would frame charges once the discharge pleas are decided" , said the court.
After staying in custody for over a month in September 2020, all accused are on Bail.
On 22nd June, all the accused in the drugs case related to SSR’s death were present before the court.
The court under Special judge V.G. Raghuwanshi posted the matter for hearing on July 12.
