What Is The Family Of The Real-Life Shershaah, Captain Vikram Batra, Doing Today?

The Sidhharth Malhotra starrer Shershaah recently released in theatres and the response the film is getting says everything about its quality and brilliance. Shershaah’s story is not something unknown to all of us, he is without any doubt one of the bravest Indian soldiers. He led one of the toughest ever operations of the Indian army at the 1999 Kargil War. For his feats, he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra.

Captain Vikram Batra was martyred on 7 July 1999. His legacy still keeps him alive among us. His brother, Vishal Batra praised the movie Shershaah by saying that it only takes about 10-12% of liberty for creative storytelling, otherwise it is based on total facts. He also revealed that Sidhharth was their own first choice to play Captain Vikram Batra.

Sidhharth even visited their home and went through their belongings. He touched and felt everything preserved in the museum that the family has created in their house. Though the final decision lay with the producer, the family was delighted to know that Sidhharth was finally doing the role.

Vishal Batra works as the Retail Business Head – North at ICCI Bank. Captain Batra also has two sisters, Seema and Nutan but not much is known about either of them today. Captain Vikram’s father also revealed that they became very emotional during the climax scene wherein Captain is gunned down by Pakistani Soldiers and finally rests on the ground forever.
