4 Killed During A Firing Incident At Bathinda Military Station

The South Western Command of the Indian Army reported that a shooting at the Bathinda Military Station in Punjab on Wednesday morning resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals.

The army stated that the area had been sealed and cordoned off after station quick reaction teams were activated. Currently, search operations are underway. Four people have di*d, according to reports. The army said the firing occurred within the military station around 4.35 a.m.

The incident was “not a terror attack,” according to the Punjab SSP. The four people who di*d belonged to the 80 Medium Regiment.

The incident took place within the military station’s officers’ mess. All of the victims’ identities are currently being investigated. The shooter was dressed as a civilian. As per the India Today report.

According to a Punjab Police source,  A few days ago, an INSAS assault rifle with 28 cartridges was missing from the guard room unit.

According to Bathinda SSP Gulneet Khurana, preliminary information suggests that an army soldier may have fired on other people on the secured campus.

The sources said that even the police had been barred from entering Bathinda Cantonment.
