Every fan of Drishyam and Ajay Devgn has been waiting for the release of Drishyam 2. Drishyam was released in 2015 and it took 7 years to finally release its sequel. But was this wait worth it? You will get to know this in this Drishyam 2 movie review.

With a promising star cast, Drishyam 2 is the official Hindi remake of the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name. Fans love the story of Drishyam because of its gripping storyline, viral 2 & 3 October connection, Pav bhaji and Vijay Salgaonkar. If you are not familiar with these terms, you probably need to rewatch the 2015 movie with more attention. But for now, stick to this Drishyam 2 movie review to know the detailed analysis of this film’s story, performances, thrill and more.

Story

As expected, the story of Drishyam 2 is the extended story of the Salgaonkar family and what follows the case of Sam’s murder. We know, this family is involved in the murder and in fact, the police know the fact too but where’s the proof? The struggle to prove Vijay Salgaonkar and his family guilty in Sam’s murder case is the motive of Drishyam 2’s plotline.

In this film, you will once again see police interrogating, torturing and trying their best to get the truth spoken out. And as a result, some events make it mandatory for Vijay to record an official confession. But do you think the story of Drishyam 2 is actually as simple as it sounds? If yes, maybe you’re wrong. Because there are some major and jaw-dropping twists & turns in the film which will leave you surprised.

Since Drishyam 2 is a thriller, we are not going to release more details about the film’s plot as we don’t intend to give you any spoilers.

Acting & Performances

In Drishyam 2 Movie review, we are now heading towards discussing the actors and their performances in the film. There is no doubt in the fact that Drishyam 2 has an amazing and impactful star cast. While Ajay Devgn heads the film in the lead, actors like Tabu, Shriya Saran and Akshaye Khanna are seen in pivotal roles.

We already had high expectations from Ajay Devgn, and we are glad the actor has proved his skills as usual. He was phenomenal in every frame and the connection of the audience with his character made his performance level up automatically.

On the other hand, when we got to know Akshaye Khanna is joining the cast of Drishyam 2, we knew it was going to be a banger role. He played the new IG Tarun Ahlawat, and also, he was well introduced with adjectives like ‘Sunky But Genius’, but we wish there was more of his character in the film. We can bet, if there was more of IG Tarun v/s Vijay Salgaonkar, it would have been a treat to watch.

Music & Dialogues

Drishyam 2 could have lost all its charm without its appreciable background score. Devi Sri Prasad deserves all the praise for putting extreme efforts into making the film’s music stand out. Its background score helps the audience to connect with the ongoing situation in a better manner.

And talking about the dialogues in Drishyam 2, it had some really impactful dialogues, which were not only cool but also had a point to prove somewhere later in the film.

Direction

This Drishyam 2 movie review cannot be completed without discussing the direction by Abhishek Pathak. Though he did not helm the 2015 released movie Drishyam, he managed well to keep the charm and thrill maintained in Drishyam 2. But we feel he could have uplifted the film’s feel by making it more gripping and crisp in the first half.

Overall

Overall, Drishyam 2 indeed is a great entertainer and won’t leave you disappointed. Yes, some points in the film might make you think that it’s a slow story, but you have to understand that this thriller film will take time to set the mood.

The first half of Drishyam 2 takes time to introduce characters and develop the base of the story. The film will pace up in the second half, as every detail developed in the first half will get detangled and the dots will connect. Hence, you need to be patient with this one, and it won’t let you down.

We are now finishing our Drishyam 2 movie review by concluding the film as a great watch. It justifies its genre properly and has the power to entertain you with major thrills. Yes, the film might start a bit slow, but you have to bear with it, as the climax is heavily based on the small details of the film.
