Alia Bhatt Wears Gown Made Of 1 Lakh Pearls At Met Gala 2023: Details Inside

The fashion’s biggest night, Met Gala 2023, was themed ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’ after the iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld’s work. And one of the most anticipated debutants of the night was Alia Bhatt, who gave a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld’s work with a gown inspired by his unforgettable bride collection at the luxury house of Chanel.

Alia’s white outfit for the night had a wide plunging U-neck and back, a corseted bodice embracing her bust, clamped waistline, a layered tulle skirt, with a floor-sweeping gown length at the back covering the Met Gala red carpet. The entire ensemble is adorned with white pearls that have been hand-embroidered. Alia wore embellished gloves, matching diamond earrings, and rings with the gown. With a half-tied ponytail with a center part completed by a dewy base makeup.

Alia Bhatt took to Instagram to share the motivation behind her wonderful outfit by Prabal Gurung. Moreover, she uncovered the Indian association connected to her billowing bridal gown that was created using 1 lakh pearls.

She wrote on Instagram while sharing the pictures from the event. “I have always been fascinated by the iconic Chanel brides. Season after season, the genius of Karl Lagerfeld shone through in the most innovative and awe-inspiring couture. My look tonight was inspired by this and, in particular, by supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look, I wanted to do something that felt authentic (hello, pearls!) and proudly made in India. The embroidery, made with 1,00,000 pearls, is a labor of love by Prabal Gurung. I’m so proud to wear you for my first Met.”

She further wrote: “A girl can never have too many pearls and the right accessories to complement the look, which in our case translated to the bow of pearls on my hair.”

Oh, and it’s white, for my Choup-ED,” she concluded while referring to her pet cat Edward and designer Karl Lagerfeld’s famous cat Choupette.

Moreover, apart from Alia Bhatt, this year’s attendees included Priyanka Chopra, Natasha Poonawalla, and Isha Ambani from India.
