Punjabi music, the most popular today, is the type of music that Indians most frequently listen to. These are the results of Apple’s year-end analysis. The streamer on Wednesday revealed the top 10 Indian songs, top 10 albums, and top 10 performers of the year. Several important conclusions are provided below:
Out of the Top 100 songs, only 21 are international. 36 of the top 100 songs and eight of the top ten are all in Punjabi. Bollywood is represented by 30 of the top 100 songs and three of the top ten songs. In addition to 16 of the top 100 songs, AP Dhillon has performed five of the top ten. Punjabi artists make up five of the top ten.

Notably, 5 of the top 10 tracks and 16 of the top 100 songs on Apple have been performed by AP Dhillon. Surprisingly, the top 10 artists include five Punjabis. On the other gand, this year, Arijit Singh is the artist with the most streams and Punjabi albums make up the top 3. Also, amongst the top 10, eight albums are from India.
With their joint song “STAY,” The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber ended the year at No. 1 on the Top Songs of 2022 charts internationally. The song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from the movie Encanto topped the Most Red Lyrics chart, while Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)” topped the Shazam chart.
In case of top 10 artists, Arijit Singh topped the list, followed by AP Dhillon, Pritam, Gurinder Gill, late Sidhu Moose Wala, A.R. Rahman, Anirudh Ravichander
The Weeknd, Diljit Dosanjh and Gminxr.
