The Bollywood Film Industry met a really bad fate in the year 2022. While most of its movies failed at the box office, only a few could succeed in impressing the strict audience. In this scenario, Varun Dhawan’s much-awaited movie Bhediya has finally hit the theaters. Hence, all eyes are on the trending Bhediya Movie Review.

This horror comedy movie stars Varun Dhawan in the leading role while actors like Kriti Sanon, Deepak Dobriyal, Abhishek Banerjee and Paalin Kabak are seen in pivotal roles. Since the audience has already been fed with so much werewolf drama in movies and various daily soaps, do you think this film has something different and exceptional to offer? To get your answers, read this Bhediya Movie Review to know all about the film’s story, performances, songs, and more details.

Story

Beginning with the genre of Bhediya, the film is made and promoted as a horror comedy. But if you are a person who is not so easygoing with horror movies, you need not panic while deciding about watching Bhediya. But the same can be an issue for the fans who love to experience jump scares in dark cinema halls.

Yes, this film lacks the horror element, but this doesn’t affect the motive of the film. In fact, Bhediya is focused on creating a dramatic scenario revolving around a werewolf that is surrounded by amazing comedy.

Now, let’s take this Bhediya Movie Review ahead and discuss the film’s plot. Just like any other werewolf movie, Bhediya’s plot is also focused on a man Bhaskar (Varun Dhawan) who is bitten by a wolf and turns into a werewolf. Yes, be prepared as Bhaskar is going to transform into a werewolf every full moon night and will go on a hunt followed by murdering people.

Unknown and not so interested in knowing what went wrong, the story is focused on treating Varun Dhawan. Meanwhile, his two friends JD (Abhishek Banerjee) and Joe (Paalin Kabak) will keep adding more and more charm to the film on the screen. Kriti Sanon is introduced as a local doctor who also turns the love interest of Varun Dhawan later.

Acting & Performance

As most of you are indeed interested in knowing about the performance of the leading man Varun Dhawan, let’s begin with the same. Varun Dhawan often earns mixed reactions for his acting skills, but in Bhediya he has served just the ‘perfect’ amount of acting required.

Varun’s character in this film is challenging because if anything goes over, the film could become a joke. But the actor handled it well and expressed the right amount of emotions, drama and humor.

On the other hand, Kriti Sanon was good in her assigned duties, but the actress did not have much to offer. We don’t blame Kriti because it felt like her character development was weak and needed to be strengthened.

And the distribution of appreciation cannot be completed without mentioning Deepak Dobriyal, Abhishek Banerjee and Paalin Kabak. These actors on the sidelines made sure to pick the film wherever it lacked the magic. Their natural acting and connecting performances are always a win on the screen.

Music & Cinematography

The music of Bhediya can be considered as an ‘Ok Tested’. The film’s playlist was average, but its background score made sure to add to the dramatic and suspenseful sequences in the film.

But if we have to talk about one thing that made Bhediya exceptionally great was its graphics and VFX. The team that handles these technical departments of this film needs massive appreciation as Bhediya without any second thoughts is the Bollywood movie with the best graphics & VFX in recent times.

Writing & Direction

After discussing some good and bad aspects of the film, our Bhediya Movie Review is now focusing on the writing and direction of the film. Ans before we land in the detailed discussion, the duo of Niren Bhatt and Amar Kaushik deserve to be praised.

Niren Bhatt has put enough effort into making the film’s script as easy as possible. Also, his idea of including relatable and popular dialogues to level up Bhediya’s comedy is also commendable. Yes, the horror elements in the film are weak, but its comedy won’t give you any chance to complain.

But one thing that lacked in the film’s writing was the importance to the climax. Bhediya’s climax goes flat and receives no major response from the audience. Niren definitely needed to put more into building suspense so that the climax could enhance.

Now talking about Bhediya’s director Amar Kaushik, the man has proved his skills by helming successful projects like Stree. He spiced up the story and made sure it was gripping throughout. Despite having some low points, Bhediya doesn’t fail to keep you entertained and the credit for this goes to none other than Amar Kaushik.

Overall

Overall, Bhediya is a film that has various elements that can give you a ‘full paisa vasool’ feeling. You can enjoy the film with your friends and family and leave the cinema halls happy and satisfied. Yes, to enjoy this film to the fullest, you don’t have to get into the details and hardcore logic in this story, you just have to sit back, relax and watch what’s happening with a free mind.

Bhediya indeed is a successful attempt of entertaining Indian fans with a dramatic yet hilarious story of a man turning a werewolf. Yes, the film definitely falls weak at some points, but all of that can be ignored as the overall feel of Bhediya is fresh and impressive. If you are a fan of horror comedies, you must give this Varun Dhawan starrer a chance at the theaters near you.
