Big Breaking: Mohali RPG Attack Accused Nabbed By Punjab Police In Mumbai

A few months back, the RPG attack on the police headquaters in Mohali, surged a wave of fear amongst the people. Furthermore, it was a topmost matters of concern for the state as well as the Central government. 

However, today, the Punjab Police, Maharashtra ATS and the central agencies, succeeded in arresting the suspect of the Mohali RPG attack. Reportedly, the suspect nabbed in Mumbai, did a reece before May 9, when the RPG was fired in Mohali, and was majorly involved in providing weapons and logistical support to the attackers.

Furthermore, as reported, the suspect’s name is Charat Singh. As per the information, his arrest is the result of a joint operation carried by the Punjab police along with the Maharashtra ATS and the central security agencies. Additionally, Punjab DGP, in a tweet, stated, “Charat Singh is key operative and associate of Canada-based BKI terrorist Lakhbir Singh Landa.” In a series of tweets, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said:

Moreover, DGP Gaurav Yadav, in a video message on Twitter, shared more information about the joint operation, stating that Charat Singh main accused in #RPG attack at Intel HQs #Mohali, #Punjab arrested from #Mumbai. 

Reportedly, Charat Singh, a resident of Mehdipur hamlet in Khem Karan, 3 kilometres from the Pakistani border, was on a 56-day parole that had been granted to him after eight years of being found guilty of murder. Furthermore, the Police had submitted the chargesheet in the RPG attack case to a Mohali court two days prior. Additionally, seven of the 13 defendants are charged in the 272-page chargesheet, which is supported by the forensic report and technical proof.

On May 9, a complaint was filed against the defendant at the Sohana police station under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Arms Act, the Explosives Act, Sections 307, 212, 216, and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code. 

As per the information, Anant Deep Singh, alias Sonu, of Guru Nanak Colony in Amritsar, Nishant Singh, alias Kanwar Bath, of Gumtala in Amritsar, Jagdeep Singh Kang, alias Vicky, of Sector 85 in Mohali, Baljinder Singh, alias Rambo, of Patti, Baljit Kaur, alias Sukhi, of Kot Khalsa in Amritsar, and Lovepreet Singh are those who have been arrested.
