Bihar: JD(U) Again Slams BJP Over ‘Y’ Category Security To Its Leaders

The infighting amongst the Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (United), the two alliance partners in Bihar, has once again come to the fore on the issue of ‘Y’ plus security to 10 BJP leaders in Bihar. JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar has criticised the decision.

“Only the BJP leaders can tell under what circumstances they needed Y plus security when the state government has provided security to all as per the standard. Currently, the future of the youth needs security, which is the biggest issue right now,” said JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar. Adding further, he said “there are a lot of doubts in the minds of the youth which needs to be cleared.”

The MHA provided security to BJP leaders in Bihar as the protestors reportedly vandalised the properties of several BJP leaders. Meanwhile, BJP state unit chief Sanjay Jaiswal said, “Everyone has right to protest, but giving a free hand to the agitators is absolutely wrong. BJP and JD(U) are alliance partners in Bihar government, but what is happening here, has not happened anywhere else. I condemn this. If such incidents are not stopped, it won’t be good for anyone.”

The JD(U) has also attacked back BJP state unit chief Jaiswal, adding that “blaming JD(U) for the protests is not right.” The infighting and difference of opinion between the BJP and JD(U) have been rising past few months on various issues like population control, caste census and now the “agnipath” scheme.

For BJP, to secure the victory of the NDA’s candidate in the forthcoming presidential elections, JD(U)’s support is very crucial, though as of now, the JD (U) hasn’t cleared its stand on the upcoming presidential polls, but stated that the party will decide its next move once the candidates of the NDA as well as the oppisition are announced.
