Ranveer Singh Viral Deepfake Video: Actor’s Father Takes Legal Action Against The User

Recently, a video of Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh had gone viral, which was tampered with the help of AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology deepfake. Now the actor’s father Jagjit Singh Bhavnani has taken legal action in this matter. They have filed an FIR against Twitter users. Let us tell you the whole matter.

Maharashtra Police’s cyber cell on Tuesday filed an FIR against an X user for allegedly uploading a ‘deep fake’ or manipulated video. In this deep fake video, Ranveer was seen appealing to vote for the Congress Party and criticizing PM Modi. Ranveer’s father complained against ex-user @sjataindia1st, after which a case was registered.

The video of Ranveer Singh, in which he was giving an interview in Kashi, was tampered. The actor’s father said in the complaint, ‘Ranveer Singh never said this and he has no connection with any political party.’

The officer said the FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code including sections 417 (cheating), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 469 (forgery intended to cause harm to reputation) and sections of the Information Technology Act. .
