HD Kumaraswamy Slams BJP: “The Saffron Party Has Increased Thrust For Power”

Former Karnataka CM and JD(S) chief HD Kumaraswamy has slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party over the ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra and defection in the Shivsena. Talking to the media personnel at the party office of JD(S), Kumaraswamy lashed out at the BJP.

“The Bharatiya Janata Party won’t tolerate any other political party being in power. The BJP’s thirst for power has increased. They won’t even tolerate a full majority government to survive because of their thirst for power,” said Kumaraswamy.

The ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra has troubled the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, moreover the Uddhav Thackeray panel, as it has turned into a challenge to save the party first, then comes the government. As per the media reports, over 50 MLAs are with Eknath Shinde in Guwahati now, including around 9 independents.

Whereas, 12 MLAs are reportedly with Shivsena’s Uddhav side. Meanwhile, the Uddhav panel has sent a list of 12 MLAs including Eknath Shinde, to the deputy speaker of Maharashtra assembly, requesting their suspension. On the other hand, Eknath Shinde has called it “illegal” as the majority of Shivsena MLAs are with him.

The ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra has turned out to be a battle for the party, between Eknath Shinde and CM Udhav Thackeray. Eknath used to be one of the most trusted and closest aides of the Thackeray family, and his rebellion has shaken not only the MVA government but even the Thackeray family.
