Himachal Elections: Delhi CM Kejriwal And Punjab CM Mann To Visit Solan On July 25

The assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh are to be held in November this year, but months before the polls, the political temperature of Himachal has started rising, moreover, with the Aam Aadmi Party actively campaigning for the upcoming assembly polls.

As per the info, Delhi CM and AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal along with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, are visiting Himachal Pradesh’s Solan on July 25, where reportedly, 5,000 party office bearers would take oath.  As tweeted by the news agency ANI:

“AAP National Convenor & Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will visit Himachal Pradesh’s Solan on July 25 to administer oath to more than 5000 party office bearers of AAP in Solan. He would be accompanied by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann.”

This is for the first time that the Aam Aadmi Party is campaigning so actively in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. Earlier, CM Kejriwal’s visit was postponed due to heavy rain alert in the state, which is now scheduled on July 25. The Aam Aadmi Party has been inducting a lot of new grassroot workers as well as some big leaders from the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party in Himachal Pradesh.

Himachal is amongst those states where the people change the government every five years. There was a notable trend with Congress leader Virbhadra Singh and BJP leader Prem Kumar Dhumal becoming the CM every five years. In 2017, after Prem Kumar Dhumal lost the assembly election, Jairam Thakur became the new chief minister.

Now the BJP has again projected CM Jairam Thakur as its electoral face in Himachal, while the Congress party has given the responsibility to the trio of MP Pratibha Singh (former CM Late Virbhadra Singh’s wife), Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Mukesh Agnihotri for the upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party is campaigning in Himachal with the same slogan as in the recent Punjab elections – “Ek Mauka Kejriwal Ko”. With the frequent visits of senior AAP leaders and CMs Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, the AAP is planning to make huge gains in the state.
