But the makers of Hindi films and web series have fulfilled this wish too. As a new and distinctive story is cooking and will be coming to our screens soon. Dangal star Sanya Malhotra has again joined the hands with Netflix for the upcoming film ‘Kathal’ (Jackfruit).
The shooting of Sanya’s forthcoming project has now begun and it will soon premiere on one of the leading OTT platforms. Along with Sanya Malhotra, Anant Joshi will also star in the upcoming film. The story revolves around the woman who dramedy set in a tiny village follows a local politician whose cherished jackfruits (Kathals) go missing and a young police officer Mahima played by Sanya Malhotra is determined to solve the unusual case to prove herself. Yashowardhan Mishra makes his directorial debut with Kathal which he also co-wrote with acclaimed award-winning writer Ashok Mishra.
Further, announcing the launch of ‘Kathal’, Netflix wrote on social media, “Gumshuda insaan ko dhoondna mushkil hai par gumshuda Kathal ko?
Is hi mushkil case ko solve karne aa rahi hai Sanya Malhotra as Mahima in Kathal.”
Speaking of the genre, Kathal is a story full of crime, mystery, drama, suspense, comedy and more. The project is produced by Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.
Moreover, ‘Kathal’ will also mark the return of Sanya Malhotra to Netflix after her striking performances in past films like Ludo, Pagglait and Meenakshi Sundareshwar. And now fans are eagerly waiting for the makers to disclose the release date of this unusual and unique project.
