The Republic day of 2021 was a big day for the farmer’s protest going on in India. A historical tractor rally was conducted and it was believed to finally end the 2 months long struggle of the nation’s feeder. But the rally ended up as a violent event when thousands of farmers got involved in clashes with Delhi police at Red Fort. Former punjabi actor-lawyer Deep Sidhu was considered to be the prime accused behind the Republic day violence.
The police force was immediately sent out in search of the actor. Also, prize money of ₹1 lakh was announced on finding the accused on 2 february, 2021. Later in the month, the actor was arrested and was sent into 7-day custody in the hands of Delhi police. Since then, the arrest of the accused has received mixed views. Even the farmer leadership has split up regarding accusations put on the activists for R-day violence. Punjabi celebrities have also been posting in support of Deep Sidhu and others. Recently, punjabi leading female singer Kaur B has extended her support to the actor through a tweet on her official instagram handle.
Kaur B has a huge fan following among punjabi youth. She’s given the industry some major hits like “Mitran de Boot”, “Paranda” etc. The support from punjabi celebrities flowing towards Deep Sidhu is creating a huge impact on public views. Celebrities and many people claim the arrest of Deep Sidhu to only be a conspiracy against the actor.
