Mann Govt On Backfoot After Moose Wala Case,  Security Of 424 VIPs To Be Restored From June 7

Since after the brutal murder of Renowned Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, not only the opposition parties but even the fans of Moose Wala have been lashing out at the AAP govt for scaling down his security. Amidst this, the Bhagwant Mann govt has decided to restore the security of all 424 VIPs from June 7.

With Moose Wala’s brutal killing and Bishnoi gang openly taking its responsibility, the opposition parties, including Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, BJP and Punjab Lok Congress have been continuously taking a dig at the AAP government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

During the hearing of the case filed by former deputy CM and senior Congress leader OP Soni in Punjab and Haryana high court on the withdrawal of his security, the AAP govt has said that the security from VIPs was withdrawn due to the additional deployment of the forces on Operation Bluestar’s Anniversary on June 6. The security of all the 424 VIPs will be restored from June 7. The Punjab govt, in a sealed envelope, has submitted a report before the high court, on whose security was withdrawn along with the reasons behind the decision.

According to a tweet by news agency ANI, Adv Madhu Dayal, counsel to former deputy CM OP Soni, has said that the Punjab govt presented their report on number of people whose security was taken & reason for which their security was curtailed in sealed envelope. They didn’t have central govt’s reports on this & have asked for more time.

While the other tweet by ANI reads, “Punjab govt said security has been taken temporarily for the Amritsar ghalughara event & will be reinstated by June 7;added they’ll mark responsibility for person who made list of people whose security was degraded public: Adv Madhu Dayal, counsel to Ex Dy CM OP Soni.”

At the time when the security of the VIPs was withdrawn, the AAP leaders were calling it a “big and historical decision.” A poster of CM Bhagwant Mann, highlighting the news headline of withdrawing the security from VIPs, including the Akal Takht Jathedar, the current ADGP and singer Sidhu Moose Wala, was tweeted from the official twitter handle of the Aam Aadmi Party, calling it an attack on the VIP culture.

But since the brutal murder of Sidhu Moose Wala, the AAP govt has been on backfoot, and now cleared in the high court that the security of the 424 VIPs will be restored from June 7.
