Pakistan Launches An Online Portal For Sikh Pilgrims For The First Time, Details Inside

For the first time, Pakistan’s Punjab government has launched an online portal for the hotel bookings and security services for Sikh pilgrims who want to travel to the province from India for pilgrimage. 

Mohsin Naqvi, Punjab’s caretaker Chief Minister termed the Sikh Yatra Booking Portal as a “ground breaking religious tourism programme”.

Naqvi told the reporters that, “For the first time, we have launched ‘Sikh Yatra Booking Portal’ — a groundbreaking religious tourism programme designed to facilitate Sikhs eager to visit their holy places in the country.”

He further mentioned, “As part of this programme, Sikh pilgrims from across the globe can now conveniently make online hotel bookings through the Sikh Yatra Booking Portal.”

Later, he added “Besides, the visiting Sikhs will have the option to hire security services and arrange transportation as well with the added privilege of VIP status during their visit.”

Naqvi said that the initiative aims to provide a seamless and an obstacle free experience to all the pilgrims visiting Pakistan. He has also established a dedicated “tourism police force” in order to promote religious tourism in Punjab. 

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Anwaar- ul- Haq Kakar added “the Sikh pilgrims coming to the country to visit their holy places are the guests in Pakistan.”
