Plot: Story begins with Four hired murderers who are arrested by the police and the investigation begins. Search Continues, it Unfolds that the game is bigger than what it appears. Who was the target? Who is the suspect? And What happens when media is involved. Saying anything more will be spoilers!

It sounds like a simple story But sorry you have judged it wrong because the trailer of this series did not reveal anything because one should only get the taste after you have it. it just like Paani puri served in every corner of the city but one can tell the difference only by tasting it. Paatal lok serves intellec

tual audiences as well as masala seekers. Crime police background stories of most of the characters have been woven so well that one can just smell the freshness in it. Many new faces mixed some old ones makes it feel so real that you get involved with each of its characters. Being a drama series it has all the ingredients. In the beginning, it took time to build up but once you get on the track of investigation with Inspector Hathiram Chowdhry played by Jaideep Ahlawat one just can’t get over it. Jaideep Ahlawat who has been seen in small characters earlier blasts the screen with his unmatchable performance. Neeraj Kabi playing the character of Sanjeev Mehra who is a renowned TV Anchor is treat to watch but the beauty of this series lies in other characters as well which has their own backstories. Tope Singh urf Chaku played by Jagjeet Sandhu hails from Punjab, this character doesn’t have many dialogues but the well written back story of the character and presence of actor makes it worth it.

Not only this character but if we start talking about each character’s work in the series it will take more time than the series itself because Creator and cinematographer Sudip has presented its character in such a manner that it was impossible to forget any of it.

Touching different issues of society in a subtle manner which provokes the thoughts in a manner that it will stay in your mind for long. Paatal Lok, Produced by Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma’s banner Clean Slate Films, directed by Avinash Arun & Prosit Roy deserves applause.
