Happy Raikoti Lands In Trouble! Complaint Filed For Promoting Gun Culture

Punjabi Music Industry has always been the hub of attraction for both fans and some legal troubles as well. Every now and then we see Punjabi singers landing in trouble for some new controversy. And now, the latest name added to the list of popular Punjabi singer and lyricist Happy Raikoti. A police complaint has been filed against the artist for promoting gun culture through his songs.

Reportedly professor MP Singh, Girish, Gautam Kapoor and Raghuveer Singh have filed an official police complaint against Happy Raikoti in a police station in Jalandhar. They claimed that the singer is promoting voilence and is putting a wrong impression on the youth. They feel being an artist, its Happy Raikoti’s ethical responsibility to not sing auch provoking songs.

The complainants also said that the singers should refrain from using vocabulary promoting weapons and drugs. The stamina of the youth is decreasing by listening to such songs. Along with this, the feeling of violence also increases in them.

They complainants have demanded for a ban on Raikoti’s song on YouTube. For now, Happy Raikoti has not reacted or commented on the controversy.

For the unversed, the Punjab Government has officially imposed a ban on promoting gun culture in the songs. 

Punjab government on 13 November 2022, banned songs promoting gun culture; public display of firearms, including on social media; and ordered a review of arms licences issued in the state.
