Punjab: 5-Year-Old Girl’s Deadbody Found Outside Sri Darbar Sahib Complex In Amritsar

On Thursday evening, the dead body of a 5-year-old girl was found outside Sri Darbar Sahib complex in Amritsar. As soon as the body was found, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) officials were immediately informed by the devotees. The SGPC officials took the body into custody and then informed the Kotwali Glyara Chowki police station.

However, the girl’s identity is still not established, but the CCTV footage of the cameras installed at Sri Darbar Sahib, shows a suspicious lady along with the girl. The CCTV recordings are now thoroughly checked by the police and the investigation is ongoing. As per the police officials, the probe has been initiated on the basis of the CCTV footage.

In a tweet (in Punjabi), the SGPC said:

“A little girl’s body was discovered outside Sri Darbar Sahib Ghanta Ghar late yesterday evening. As soon as the authorities learned about this, they delivered the body to Kotwali Glyara Chowki police station. If anyone is linked to or knows this girl, please reach out to us,” said the SGPC. 

Additionally, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has even issued a number – 9781130219 if anyone wants to share any info about the deceased girl. The police officials have started investigating the suspicious lady seen with the girl in the CCTV footage. 

On the other hand, the cause of death of that 5-year-old girl is not clear yet. However, the police officials have stated that the reason would be found after the post-mortem of her body. Moreover, the investigation is ongoing but the 5-year-old victim remains unidentified. 

Police officer Inderjeet Singh said that he had received the information about the girl’s body, after which the body was taken into possession and the investigation is under progress.
