Rohit Sharma to Lead India in Tour of Ireland This June

News from Cricket Ireland has confirmed that India will visit the country in June this year to take part in a two-T20I Series. Opening right-hander Rohit Sharma will lead his team on this visit which will take place in June.

The 34-year-old from Nagpur, Maharashtra took some time to fulfill the promise of his undoubted talent but is now the proud captain of India.

It’s not clear whether Sharma will take part in the play himself with the action taking place so close to the team’s visit to England. It’s possible that he will be rested, together with other top names such as batsman Virat Kohli, first-choice wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, and pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

However, Sharma’s leadership skills will still play an essential role if India is to be successful. In his time as captain, he has installed a level of confidence in the team.

As the cricket expert at JustGamblers said,

“It took Sharma a long time to fulfill his potential, but we now see his skills as a leader. This is reflected in India’s high position in the world rankings for all forms of the game. We also see it reflected in the number of bets we see placed on the team and individual players. Fans have a lot of confidence in Sharma and his men.”

It remains to be seen what happens during the Ireland visit but, in theory, India should triumph. This will set them up nicely for their visit to England and the rest of the season.

India tour of Ireland to consist of a Two-T20I Series

The Two-T20I Series will be played in Malahide on June 26 and June 28. It provides the perfect opportunity to clarify the starting XI for the T20 World Cup which takes place in Australia later this year.

The matches also give the Indian team a change to prepare for their visit to England in July. Having the opportunity to play in similar conditions to the England matches will certainly be advantageous to the visitors.

Ireland visit is a precursor to India’s tour of England

The first activity of the Indian cricket team’s visit to England this summer will be to finish off the test series from last year by playing the remaining test. The teams will then play three One Day Internationals and three T20s.

This will present them with a further chance to hone their skills before competing at the T20 World Cup. It will also give the Indian team the opportunity to emphasize their skill at T20 where they currently top the world rankings.

It remains to be seen how the results turn out in both Ireland and England, but Sharma and his team will certainly start both tours as hot favorites. They are a strong team whereas England and Ireland have not been as impressive recently.
