The minimun age of getting marriage for women should be raised to 21, says Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan raises the question of what’s the logic behind 18 being the minimum age for girls to get married, while on another side 21 years for boys all he wants the minimum age of marriage for women should be raised from the current 18 years to 21 years.

At the inauguration of the ‘Samman’ campaign that aims to create an atmosphere of dignity and security for women, as he raises the question “Why should the minimum age for girls to get married be 18 when it is 21 for boys? I want to make this a public issue that is discussed by the people,”

He also claimed that over 7,100 missing girls had been traced and united with their families and efforts are on to trace the remaining missing children, he also wants that a new system will be put in place, under which any woman moving out of her house for her work will register herself at the local police station, and she will be tracked for her safety.

He also said the helpline number will be provided to women, in any case mis-happening they can all easily connect with them, even he said that a panic button is must in the public transport.
