Riverdale actor Ryan Grantham sentenced to life imprisonment  for killing his mother.

The actor punished after pleading guilty of committing second-degree murder of his mother in March 2020.

Reportedly, the court also issued a lifetime firearm ban for Grantham at the September 20 sentencing.

According to CBS News, Ryan shot his mother, Barbara Waite, via a single gunshot to the head while she  played piano.

After committing the crime, Grantham filmed a video of himself confessing  to the murder and filmed his  mother's corpse.

As per the reports, Ryan also had plans to assassinate Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The evidence presented in court also included videos that Ryan took throughout the ordeal, including one where he confessed to the murder.

Ryan's sister, Lisa Grantham also testified in court stating that her brother is a dangerous person.

It was also reported that Ryan had considered carrying out a mass killing, including one at his college at Simon Fraser University.

Grantham has been known for portraying Jeffrey, in Riverdale. He also worked in Supernatural,  iZombie, and Falling Skies.
