Punjabi singer-producer B Praak was filled with tears and gratitude at the 67th National Awards Ceremony, held recently. The singer was awarded the prestigious ‘Rajat Kamal Award’ for his remarkable vocals in the song ‘Teri Mitti’ from the 2019 Bollywood release Kesari, based on the real-life Battle Of Saragarhi. He also shared an emotional message on winning the award through his social media.
The song ‘Teri Mitti’ is one of the most memorable songs of recent times. There is not one soul that has not shed a tear while listening to this absolute lyrical and vocal masterpiece. And B Praak was bound to be recognized as the ‘Best Male Playback Singer’ for his magnificent vocals in the song. Tarsem Jassar and Simi Chahal starrer Rabb Da Radio 2 was awarded the ‘Best Punjabi Feature Film’.

The actor who has been recognized by the audience as one of the finest of modern times, Manoj Bajpayee was also awarded with the very deserving ‘Best Male Actor’ National Award for the movie ‘Bhonsle’. Dhanush was also awarded with ‘Best Male Actor’ award for the movie ‘Asuran’. On the other hand, Kangana Ranaut bagged the ‘Best Actress’ award for her role in the movies ‘Manikarnika : The Queen Of Jhansi’ and ‘Panga’.
Legendary actor Rajinikanth was awarded the most prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last movie of his life ‘Chhichhore’ bagged the award for the ‘Best Feature Film in Hindi’. Most of the categories of the awards were dominated by regional films this year.
The 67th National Awards were held on 24 October, 2021 after a two-year delay due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Though held in 2021, the awards were held for the movies released in 2019. The winners had already been announced in March earlier this year and the ceremonial event was now held.
